Research Experience

Human-AI & Creative Computing (HAIX) Lab, NYCU

Dec 2025 – Present

Undergraduate Researcher & Systems Administrator Advisor: Prof. Grace Yu-Chun Yen

Conduct human–AI interaction and interactive systems research — system prototyping, experimental preparation, and research discussions — while maintaining computing infrastructure for projects involving speech interfaces, conversational AI, collaborative systems, and real-time interaction.

OmniObserve: Revealing Hidden Consensus in Online Meetings 2025 – 2026

Investigated AI-mediated mechanisms for surfacing latent consensus during online meetings, allowing participants to privately express uncertain or socially difficult opinions while receiving indications when others share similar views.

  • Built foundational software and experimental infrastructure on an H100-backed research environment using Jitsi, Whisper, and the ChatGPT API.
  • Participated throughout system design, implementation, experimental preparation, and research discussions.
  • Contributed to study execution as a research confederate.
  • Honorable Mention, NYCU Computer Science Undergraduate Project Contest, Spring 2026.

Human–AI Speech Assistance for Healthcare and Law-Enforcement Workflows 2026 – Present

Investigating how speech-based AI systems can improve information transfer in professional environments, with an emphasis on helping patients understand medical information while reducing communication and documentation workload for physicians and pharmacists.

  • Conducting stakeholder interviews and developing early-stage prototypes.
  • Exploring automatic speech recognition, speaker diarization and identification, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, structured decision models, and real-time information visualization.
  • Investigating related applications for organizing conversational information and supporting professional workflows in law-enforcement settings.

Independent Research

2026 – Present

Fursuit Identity Retrieval and Recognition from 2D Images

Exploring fine-grained identity retrieval and recognition of fursuit characters from two-dimensional imagery. Currently conducting literature review, dataset exploration, and early-stage prototyping around visual embeddings, identity retrieval, clustering, and recognition of distinctive morphology, color patterns, and markings.

Selected Technical Projects

emfont

Open-Source CJK Webfont Infrastructure

Built and maintain an open-source service supporting 140+ CJK fonts and averaging approximately 1.15 million HTTP requests per day. Designed a production delivery architecture using K3s, Fastify, MinIO, VPS infrastructure, and Cloudflare CDN, while evaluating multiple glyph-subsetting and Unicode-range partitioning strategies for scalable CJK font delivery.

emtech

Independent Technical Publication

Maintain a long-running technical publication containing 1.6M+ Chinese characters of original articles, tutorials, and learning series, currently reaching approximately 50,000 page views per month. Built the current publishing platform using Astro with a fully custom frontend and content architecture.

Food Explorer

Large-Scale Interactive Experiment

Designed and built a web-based personality experience whose outcomes were intentionally randomized while presented through personalized framing. Reached 100,000+ responses in one week, with 90%+ of respondents rating their randomized result 10/10 for perceived accuracy. Received coverage from LINE Today, VS MEDIA, niusnews, and online video creators.
